Adventure Games

An adventure game is a video game in which the player takes on the role of a hero in an interactive story driven by exploration and puzzle solving. Focusing on the narrative story allows intense drawing from other narrative-based media, literature and film, covering a wide variety of literary genres. Many adventure games (text and graphics) are designed for a single player because this emphasis on story and character makes multi-player design difficult.  While the Colossal Cave Adventure was first described as the first adventure game to be released in 1976, the other major adventure game series are Zork, King's Quest, Monkey Island's Secret and Myst.

The first adventure games developed in the 1970s and early 1980s were text based using text parsers to transform the player's input into commands. By becoming more powerful with the ability of personal computers to show graphics, the graphics adventure game format became popular by initially enriching the player's text commands with graphics, but soon afterwards it moved towards point and click interfaces. Further computer advances have led to adventure games with more immersive graphics using real-time or pre-created three-dimensional scenes or full-motion video taken from a first- or third-person perspective.

For the western markets, the crowds peaked in the mid-1990s when populations of the late 1980s were among the most technically advanced species, but became a niche type at the beginning of the 2000s due to the first human populace. It was difficult to find broadcasters and publishers to support such initiatives. Since that time, the success of independent video game developers has come to such a revival with the proliferation of new gaming platforms, especially the mass funding efforts, the prevalence of digital distribution that makes episodic approaches possible, and mobile consoles and mobile devices; Walking The dead are considered an important title for rejuvenation.
