Puzzle Games: create a unique set of video games that emphasize puzzle solving. Puzzle types can test many problem-solving skills such as logic, pattern recognition, sequence solving, and word completion. The player may have unlimited times or endless attempts to solve a puzzle, or it may be a time limit, or it may be difficult to make simpler puzzles as long as you have to complete it in real time as in Tetris.

The style is very broad, but usually involves some abstraction and can benefit from colors, shapes, numbers, physics, or complex rules. Unlike most video games, video games puzzles use "lives" that challenge a player, often limiting the number of experiments. In puzzle video games, players often try to progress to a higher score or the next level by going to a certain point or reaching some criteria.
